In a strategic expansion to bolster its presence in the Indian market, Igus, a global leader in motion plastics, has inaugurated a cutting-edge 92,000 sq ft manufacturing facility in Mandur, near Budigere, Bengaluru.
This expansion aligns with Igus India’s focus on emerging sectors like semiconductors and renewable energy, which are anticipated to drive significant growth. The new plant is a key component of Igus’s long-term strategy to enhance its operational capabilities and support its extensive customer base across the country.
Since its inception in 2000 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Igus GmbH, Igus India has established a robust foothold in the motion plastics industry. Serving over 19,000 customers with a comprehensive catalog of 125,000 parts, the company is known for its innovation and customer-centric approach.
On average, Igus India introduces over 200 new products annually, highlighting its dedication to advancing technology and meeting diverse customer needs.
The new Bengaluru facility, a significant investment of over ₹100 crores (approximately 12 million euros), underscores Igus’s commitment to the Indian market. This investment includes ₹20 crores for setting up the factory, ₹40 crores for advanced injection molding machines, and ₹20 crores for the manufacturing process.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the plant is designed to meet the high standards of motion plastics production, ensuring that Igus India continues to deliver top-tier products. Additionally, the company is actively seeking to purchase its own land for future expansions.

This synergy has been a major factor in our significant growth in the country.”
Looking ahead, Igus plans to extend its reach beyond Bengaluru by establishing logistics and assembly centers in Pune, Gurugram, and Noida. Currently, Igus India ranks as the 6th largest subsidiary among Igus’s 38 global subsidiaries, reflecting its strong market performance and growth potential.
Over the past two years, Igus India has doubled its revenue from ₹199 crores to ₹313 crores, with expectations to reach ₹340 crores in 2024.
